Help
I have just bought this microwave with grill and convention oven from Comet; and i am massively confused.
Firstly; I comes with a metal grill rack thing and i think the instructions say that it can be used in the microwave mode (as it talks about cooking pizza on 50% grill / 50% micro). But i also remember my parents telling me when i was younger that if i ever put metal in the microwave it’d blow up.
Secondly; the oven part. What dishes can i use when evening? All it says is things like place roast chicken on the glass turntable which surely the juices will leak everywhere. Also people have mentioned cooking chips in theirs - does that mean using a metal tray??
To be honest i only really wanted a microwave to pre heat potatoes before putting them in the oven to crisp – but it seems a shame not use all the functions. (especially as my oven is pants and slightly warms food at the front whilst burning food at the back!)
Thanks
Amy

I have a combi, but not this one.
I find it excellent for part roasting / microwaving veggies e.g. baked potatoes.
Also good for ready meals - cooks more quickly than in the oven, and you get a browned top.
I never use metal in the microwave, but that's just me.
You can use anything in the combi, as long as it is safe for an oven e.g. pyrex, ceramic. Put your chicken in a non-metallic dish or roasting tray.
Pizza: try non-metallic oven crispers ( also suitable for chips ). I think you can get them from betterware / lakeland.0 -
I have a similar microwave. You are safe to use the microwave and grill as per instructions. They manfacturers wouldn't say so if it was dangerous. Put the chicken on a microwaveable plate. Ditto with the chips. Don't put other metal items in the oven. Only the metal grill rack.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

We have a combi and we can do Jacket potatoes from raw to cooked with crispy skin in 15 Min's.
Have a read of the instruction book that came with it, and don't be afraid to have a go.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
We bought a SHARP R-98STM-A combie last Chrimbo and we only use the other oven as storage now. When using the microwave we take the metal shelves out.Now the confusing bit we also have a low and high rack which are metal and can be used when "Duel" cooking...Roasts a chicken (2.3kg) in 50 minutes. One of the best buys we have had.
OP you might find a helpline number in the instructions..0 -

Thats what i want to do a crispy jacket spud. The instruction booklet is pants though. Only about 6 tichy pages. It mentions it has a potato program which i tried but it only microwaves it. So need the oven for the final crisp.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0
