I sort of fell off the wagon over the last 2 weeks and got caught up with work as well. However I must say I am impressed by the level of restraint I am exhibiting. Unfortunately I exceeded my overdraft limit again . The good news is by only £33.60 not what was becoming my usual £350+ and I finally read my bank's fair fees policy which states if I don't go over in daily increamental amounts of £10 I don't get charged. Serioulsy, why did I not ever read these things!!!!!
Its been a busy 2 weeks. The most important thing I've done is move to another flat which is way cheaper than my last one. I'm really pleased and am sharing with the loveliest girls ever! I am a very happy bunny:beer:
So it's one more day to payday. I must say, I approach this payday with a lot of restraint. I have spent the last month going into shops to look and try stuff from the sales....................and then walking away;). For next month, I'm budgeting £200 to spend on clothes and shoes - work shirts etc in the sales. I will try to spread this particular joy of shopping by giving myself a £50 allowance per week so I have something new for 4 out of the 4 weeks of next month:T

Hey TLF, good to see you back on the wagon.
I hate moving house with a passion as it is expensive, hard work and generally depressing. Glad to hear all went OK.
IT'S PAY DAY! Woo hoo (well not for me. I get paid on the 6th of each month so I am as far from a pay day as I can be right now

It's PAYDAY!!! YAAAY! We have survived another month - and possibly a harder month than usual following Christmas and all that jazz.
Hope the 2010 moneysaving is going well.Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Hi!!!!
I am very happy at the moment. For the first time in longer than I care to remember, I feel I am in control. I've spread out my salary so that I get 'paid' over a 5 week period. The great thing is that all my big payments come out during the week I get paid ie rent and loan repayments. I've even managed to reconcile my bank account to the last p:j
The one thing I believe was a constant worry for me was not seeing money in my account. I've spread the repayment on my Barclay card so I'm paying off amounts each week. I think its the same feeling that the people who do a payment a day get. Feeling like you are doing something and not just waiting for the next payday.
I went shoe shopping this weekend. Word from the wise. If you are looking to buy in the sales, do your shopping online in the first instance. I saw these shoes on sale online, headed off to the shop where they had them for £30 higher than the online price. I plastered a huge smile on my face and asked them to check the price again. Lo and behold, it was suddenly £30 cheaper. I used my 'savings' to buy another pair of shoes:rotfl: May I just say that I actually had a clothing budget and I'm still within budget:D
Its good to have found my feet again. Now off to check out my fellow money saving pals diaries!
Cheers:beer: Celebrating not being broke 2 days after payday!HSBC Term loan:[STRIKE]£3,572.80[/STRIKE] ; [STRIKE]£3,215.52[/STRIKE]; £2,858.24:eek: :Barclaycard:[STRIKE] £1,600[/STRIKE];£1,311.05:eek:

Why oh why do I insist on going shopping on an empty stomach??? A trip to Tesco to buy bread turned into a mini shopping spree. A simple £2 trip escalated (yes while on my money saving soapbox I feel justified to use this word), yes escalated to £10.15. I should not be allowed near buy one get one free hot cross buns............

To say that I've somewhat fallen off the wagon is a bit of an understatement. For some reason, I suddenly have a rather active social life which means I'm spending a lot more than I budgeted :-(. On the upside, today I got a cheque for expenses which i had not put in my budget so thats going against my debt. Oh, payday is sooooo far away.....but at least I'm not over my overdraft limit :-)HSBC Term loan:[STRIKE]£3,572.80[/STRIKE] ; [STRIKE]£3,215.52[/STRIKE]; £2,858.24:eek: :Barclaycard:[STRIKE] £1,600[/STRIKE];£1,311.05:eek:

Isn't it just!! But great news that even with going out more often you are not over your limit. I feel like I have had a busy month too and the odd meal/drink out soon mounts up doesn't it!
Stick with it - payday is 8 days away for me, can't be much longer for you! Enjoy going out - we don't want to become boring moneysaving hermits do we??
