Bank payments update

Do I presume that my bank account transactions will not be updated until tomorrow? I have been expecting a credit due in and nothing is shown via my online banking. I would phone the Halifax but they never seem very helpful!

Today is a bank holiday. Treat it as a weekend.

You wouldn't expect to see the credit come in on a weekend.

    First thing tomorrow, hopefully!

It always frustrates me that Banks seem to process debits at the weekend, but not credits!

It is shocking that they should forward date known debits and not use Mystic Meg to process the credits that they haven't even had sight of and as such don't even know exist.

I found it bizarre that just about the only thing open in my local High Street yesterday was the bank! Lloyds were open all day, with staff just sitting there bored stiff because the last thing any customer expected was that they would be open on a Bank Holiday!

Although they show on the account on Saturday, they actually have Monday's date so it doesn't really make any difference - apart from the fact it acts as a good reminder to the customer that the money will leave the account.

    You can't say that!

This site is all about bank bashing and how such forward dating of transaction is an absolute rip off denying customers their lawful right to go overdrawn and post complaints about bank charges which used to be illegal but never were really at all.

I'm sure it's against forum rules to say something a bank does is actually useful!

    Well done opinions4u.
    I agree completely with you.
Bash the banks, Bash the banks.
How dare they be human when their customers do everything correctly.
