Might sound like a stupid q but im really not sure about it.

In terms of car insurance, should every modification be mentioned or only certain ones?

Only asking as buying a 2nd hand car from a dealership who has informed us that the previous owner had a tow bar and parking sensors fitted.

So do i need to mention these to my insurance company?

The fact you are in doubt means you should declare it :)

its always best to declare everything to these rip off merchants as you know full well when you need to claim they will look for any little detail to weasel out of paying if they can
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

I've heard the opposite and remember thinking it was ludicrous that uprated brakes raise premiums.

Perhaps not so strange if you think about what sort of driver thinks they need uprated brakes.

exactly, its all about expected risk to the insurer
they could even look at a towbar as risking the chance of the car being written off in a rear end collision
  • one easy answer no pages of posts needed.

Tell them everything, the fact you are asking here means you are unsure. Insurance company will find anything they can to stop a pay out do not give them that reason.
Google gives you answers use it.........
