Paying £1 a month

Hello folks, I had posted asking for help yesterday but I think I may have given too much information and some people decided to attack me for it. The thread has since been deleted.
There was a suggestion to pay £1 a month towards my credit cards until I work out a payment plan but I've tried reducing my payments before and they just piled on a load of charges.
I work full time and do not receive any benefits or allowances. How do I go about reducing my payments without incurring charges?
There was some other useful sounding information in the thread which I didn't save. I will contact the CCCS as soon as I can.

Unfortunatly there is no requirement for creditors to stop adding interest and charges

You cannot stop your creditors from imposing further charges - they will go on doing that but in the end, when you are finally in a debt repayment scheme of some sort, they usually have to admit they are flogging a dead horse. At that point some creditors freeze the debt and some sell it on to a third party, who will not be adding any charges as they buy the debt for something daft like 15pence in the pound and sit back happily taking your regular repayments for as long as it continues. The sooner you get on to CCCS the better, then you can start getting to grips with the problem. One life - your life - live it!0

The sooner you get in touch with CCCS or Payplan the better. Once you have your DMP set up then the creditors should stop adding the charges and freeze the interest.
You could also post your SOA (Statement of Affairs on here and everyone on here can maybe offer advice as to any saving you may be able to make.
There's a SOA link in one of the threads "stickied" to the beginning of this board.
I saw the thread yesterday and you was asked by several people to do this. People cannot offer constructive help if they don't know the situation.

This is partly the reason you were attacked yesterday.
Please take a chill pill, relax and read the advice that's already been given to you. Follow instructions instead of going in Gung Ho and getting all aggravated and defensive and you will soon be being helped.
Most of us are in a similar boat to you and are not here to judge why you are in debt. Your attitude to finding ways of paying it is another thing though.
I don't doubt that you want to pay your debts otherwise you wouldn't be trying so hard to get advice from here.
Please just relax and go with the flow, it's much easier and you'll get things sorted much quicker.
