Did he work cash in hand while with you? You say that he used to give you the cash to put into your bank account and pay bills from? So, as a couple, you BOTH were evading taxes etc., and should you report him to IR, this may come back to bite you in the a*se, as you were also a part of the cash in hand business, and didn't have a problem with it when you were benefiting. I may be wrong, but this is what I get from your posts. If that is right, then you hold the evidence to his cash jobs, but it also incriminates you.
Unfortunately, if you cannot prove his income to CSA, then you're in for a long battle to try and get anything from him.

yes ,i was with him 3 years he has had his business for around 9 years.he would give me £150 every week for housekeeping, looking at it now i am as bad as him,but didnt know what else to do.stopped working after i had the 2 year old ,i didnt get a penny from him until i was no longer working and my maternity pay stopped.couldnt claim any tax credits as he wasnt able or willing to prove income,so really wouldnt say i benefitted from anything.only started claiming benefits after he had left.

My ex has run his "business" for 10 years, but claimed incap etc.. also claimed income support as a couple etc.... I spoke to benfits hotline about that as being 16 -17 at the time and although not stupid and knowing what he was doing was wrong i didnt really understand exactly what he was doing if that makes sense, i flitted between college, work and unemployment. Anyway... they said that they only go on it if its happening now as its ridiculasly hard to prove whats happened in the past.
