Help being billed by 2 suppliers?

Just wondering if anyone has any advice. We currently seem to be being billed by two companys for one supply (elevticity). This is for a business (just thought I'd say in case it makes a difference). We were with E4B who went bust then British gas took over the supply. We went to a broker who found another supplier and we agreed to move to them. Thing was this happened quite a while ago and tbh I've not really kept on top of it. Anyway BG continued to charge us and by after several months I simply forgot all about it. Fast forward a year and weve now been contacted by the company we agreed to move to to say we have outstanding bills. This obviously jogged my menory although we have never recived any bills at all from this company. I asked thenm to send me a copy so I could see if the meter numbers are the same etc (which I assume they must me). They have emailed me one but I can't open it and so have have had no reply to me message asking for another. Anyway just wondered where do I stand? I think this cimpany will try and claim we owe them although we have paid BG. What do I do? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Presumably you went to this other company to get them to arrange the transfer. Tell them that they have not arranged the transfer because you are still being billed by BG and that you will pay them if the organise a refund from BG?

If you PM me your MPAN (13 digit number) from bill I can check national register which will confirm who is actually your supplier.

With business accounts you are normally on a contract for a fixed term that rolls over if you don't give notice to terminate the contract at the end of the term.

So I don't think it as easy as getting your new supplier to arrange the transfer of supply - you would have to take action with BG.

That said, if you have signed a contract with a new supplier could you be in breach if you don't pay them?
