iPhone not setting volumne properly?

When I'm playing a song on my iphone and I move the volume slider bar, it won't stay where I've slid it to, it will 'jump' back to the middle usually, and not adjust the volume any higher/lower.

I've checked that the volume limit is set to 'off'.

Any ideas what this could be?

In the interests of 'karma' I would love to offer advice, since I've just received some here, but can't help as my volume slider is not doing the same as yours.

This has happened to me as well, so you're not alone. Turn the iPhone off then back on again (hold the power button down for 5 seconds then slide the control across to turn off). Doing that works for me and should hopefully work for you too.

Thanks guys. Against my better judgement I went to a Carphone Warehouse shop, to see if this was a known/simple problem to fix.

Guy in shop proceeded to 'reset' my phone, which would then not turn back on and was just showing the Apple logo. Cue him telling me that I could send it away which would take 28 days. Errm no.

Left shop, in a total rage and left phone sitting in my car just quietly displaying the logo. After about 10 minutes it turned itself back on and the slider is now working properly.

The joys of owning an iPhone eh!!
