Offline Gas & Electric Tarriffs

Options
My 80 year old Mother-in-Law uses SWALEC for her gas and electric and phone charges, and seems to be getting a poor deal. She does not have a computer and cannot (and will not) use one. Where can I find out the best offline tariff deals for gas & electric? All the sites like confused.com and uSwitch give online tariffs.

Can you not go and read her meter and enter the readings online from your computer?

The computer does not need to be in the house that the online tariff is being used.

  • Thanks Stan

I realise that, but to control her own affairs she will need an email address etc to see her bills

Hi Millardholeinone - Have a look at the "Switchwithwhich" energy switch site, part way thro' the screen pages they have an options page for you to select your preferences.
As mum is 80, it is a litttle worrying that she moved all her supplies to SWALEC including her phone, which looks like the work of a smooth talking doorstep or street salesman
    Good Luck
  • Thanks dogshome.

You got it in one, that's exactly what happened. Thanks for the tip.

You give your email address and when you get an email print out her bill and take it to her.

If she goes on a DD tariff all it needs is for someone to keep an eye on it for her.

    Unless she doesn't trust you.

Only if you select to do so, most give the option to search for paper billing only options. On energyhelpline its on the page after you put in your current details.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Use any of the comparison sites in the resource bar above - they all (including uSwitch) offer tariffs that do not require any computer access :)
