Any help gratefully appreciated!
Have just dropped my laptop, with memory stick in. Memory stick has broken. I am able to insert it very carefully in to the computer, but it is very wobbly. The stick is no longer working though. Desperately need to retrieve the work I have saved on the stick.
Any ideas??
I am going to try the local computer shop tomorrow. Is it likely that they can retrieve the data?
What a nightmare...

If it's a flash drive then there's a good chance they could cobble it back together to retrieve the information, as long as the circuit board is intact.
If it's a memory stick (sony memory card) then it will probably be damaged beyond rescue.0 -
Thanks - it's a flash drive...I think. (Completely remedial where computers are concerned - sorry!) It is a stick which slots in at side of computer. Is this a flash drive?0

Yes, if it plugs into a USB port then it's a flash drive.0

Phew...thanks. You have reassured me a bit then. Fingers crossed they can help me.
Thanks for the advice!0 -
Look this is soooooooo easy to fix/repair, it's almost open, -- a little solder and refit, 10-15 mins tops, please don't get fleeced at this time of year.0
