What router do you have ?, open up ie and type 192.168.0.1(depends on your router though) into the address bar and login, default settings could be admin password and then go to wireless settings and choose which encryption and enter a passphrase(but remember it) then log out0

I assume you are running an unsecured wireless router? Enter the admin page, change the admin password, change the SSID to something other than default, set security passphrase - preferably WPA2 and make a note of any numbers/digits it gives you. save all settings and exit.
Anyone requiring access to this network will then need to know the the security type (WPA2) and passphrase or hex code (numbers/digits).Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -

well, without saying what make/model of the router you have we can't tell you much as we know very little about your network setup.0
