Currys Price match on their own product?

Hi,

on 21st December I ordered a Hoover fridge freezer (HCF5177W) which I purchased for £399.99, and had delivered on 23rd. I have now seen that it is on sale on the Currys website (I think I also saw it advertised on TV yesterday too) for only £249.00 - a massive saving of £150.00.

My question is if I go to the store I bought it from tomorrow (28th December) will I have any trouble getting them to price match their own product?

Has anyone had this sort of experience before?

Thanks

Bob

Possibly? comet do within 28 days if you take in your receipt. My sister bought a tv last week and stand and both are reduced by £50 each. she took the receipts and the refunded the difference to her card

When I worked in Currys a year ago, the policy was to offer a price match even seven days after the purchase. If the price decreases then they'll happily give you the difference.

Matching their own web prices was a bit trickier, it was down to the manager's discretion. They will have to check if the price match will affect the individual store's bottom line and discount budget; I've got a feeling it will.

I'd suggest contacting their customer service centre in writing (email) and explain how disappointed you are. It was often the case that a customer service advisor would over-rule the store managers.
  • Well its worth a try for sure. I'd contact customer services as dehaani says I dont think no you will get anywhere going into the shop. good luck.

  • A month ago I bought a new computer from Currys.
The day I took delivery I noticed that the price had reduced by £20.
I contacted customer services and was refunded the price difference.
Was really impressed by currys service on this occasion.

i saw a post on here the other day where they did it for a TV that dropped in price
all you can di is ask
  • Yip i agree, just ask, they can only say no. The sales of goods act says that you cant return an item if its found cheaper elsewhere.
  • Hi,

Today I went into the Currys store where I purchased the fridge freezer pointing out the new price and their 7 day price match promise, and was refunded £150.99 with the minimum of fuss.
All I was asked was if the current price was an internet only deal (which it wasn't) and was given the refund after the assistant checked the details on their system.

Thanks to everyone for your helpful replies from one very happy Currys customer. :j

Stebiz - I think the reason why they have done this is because they want to keep a customer who will most likely spend more than the refund given in the future. BTW unfortunately the bookies no longer seem to quote Hull City for the title but you can get 1000-1 with Betfair

This happened to me last week and they happily refunded the £50 drop in price in the sales.
