As there is more than likely F/ALL wrong with the washing machine it hardly matters!!

If the washing machine was installed by the retailer (which is how I read the first post) then its not the OPs fault even if its just a blanking plug thats not been removed.

You're right - the OP has serious problems with incompetant installers. I mean - just look at the new cooker thread for example.
