Hi - could I have some more advice please?

Got a late Christmas present (weather) of an iPhone. Now got my original O2 phone saying 'no network coverage' but new phone saying 'no service' - is there normally a delay in the changeover?

Have kept my original phone number and hoped that the transitition would be seamless.

Thanks

    No help?

Now got service on new phone but no contacts from old phone have moved over despite number being the same - some advice would be really welcomed.

    thanks

copy ALL your contacts from your old phone to the simcard (or if they are on the sim card - just do the next step)

go to settings > mail, contacts, calendar > scroll down to contacts then tap import SIM contacts

Thanks - tried that and nothing happened. The guy in the O2 shop copied my contacts to the 'phone' memory which may be the problem. Think they're all lost now?

Are the contacts still visible on your old phone - if they are, you should be able to copy them.

Thanks - the bloke in the O2 shop told me that they would be transferred automatically, however another bloke from O2 told me (over the phone) that the way to do it was to put new SIM card into old phone and then copy them across and then put into new phone.

Meanwhile, I discovered that all the details were on the old phone and I just sat and did it manually, and did a cull too!

The resultant problem now is that when syncing the iPhone with iTunes I haven't got most of these contacts in my email stuff so syncing would mean losing them again. :rotfl:
