Can you cancel PPI first and then claim it?

im thinking of reclaiming my PPI from my Alliance and leicester (now santander) loan and i want to know if its possible to cancel the PPI before actually sending in the template letters to reclaim the money?

    Post your letters by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

    Or you can request they cancel on the reclaiming letter if you want to, its is up to you.
