I've just bought a selection of "CELLOPHANE (CELLO)GUSSETED CRAFT/SOAP BAGS" from ebay, not being sure what size to buy I bought 3 different size
Now I'm trying to come up with gift ideas for Christmas which I can make at home, prefereably over the summer hols with DD (5yrs), which don't involve baking (won't have the freezer space!) and would be suitable for both males and females from 5-years to 83 years and will fit in these bags  Don't worry, they don't have to all be the same :rotfl:My brain kind of stops at the "biscuits" stage and the only other idea I've had is to fill them with sweets, not exactly suitable for everyone though
Any ideas? Thanks

Soap, bath bombs there was a link to an About.com site for crafts, hold on I'll have a look here you are http://familycrafts.about.com/od/giftstomake/. Have a look at thread by Liz D a few threads back - might be some ideas there. Small candles.0

Jams, pickles, chutneys, preserves, minature flavoured spirits? Preserves & flavoured spirits would probably be the easiest as there is no cooking involved with these, also fruit is at it's cheapest through summer & the longer preserved the more it improves:D On second thougths, maybe not the flavoured spirits with a 5 year old though:oPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Pencil toppers made from fimo. You do bake them but they wont need freezing :P DD did a lovely bunny rabbit like that.It was mostly just a tube shape with triangle head and pair of ears joined in the middle then painted when hard and varnished. You could do snow men like that too.
You can make broaches with it too if you buy some broach pins...butterflies,fruit,birds etc0 -
If they have nice looking bottles of cologne etc in your 99p store (ours do) they can be made to look really special with celophane bags. I saw the sales assistant is body shop 'bigging up' a single bottle once & it was amazing. lots of thin ribbon to tie it off with i remember as well.
Good luck

Wow fimo, I remember that from when I was a kid, didn't know you could still get it. I work at Boots and I know that lots of people save up the things that they have bought with the skincare/make up vouchers and then make them into sets. Would look lovely in cellephane with curling ribbon.0

Do what I've just done for my sister's hen night (which is tonight but I'm now not going to).
I emailed every company I could think of and asked for samples to fill party bags with. I've got a vast selection of everything from teabags to Listerine - all free0 -
Bath oils: Big bottle of unscented oil and add some of the lovely flowers and herbs around in the summer.
Flavoured Cooking oil: Buy large tin of olive oil and flavour with herbs, chillis, garlic, lemon etc"A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0 -
Quick question, sorry to hijack: when making flavoured oil, do I lterally just decant some olive oil into a pretty jar thingy and then bung in a few chillis or whatever it is I'm flavouring it with? Or do i need to prep the "flavours" in some way?
Edited to add for the OP: The scented gel candle thread has reappeared today - maybe they'd be good in the cellophane?
And also to ask has the cellophane come as sheets? or more kind of bag things?? I've had a look on ebay and can't quite work it out (but it has been a long day!!)
TIA x0 -
What a marvellous idea!! I've never really thought about something like this but this year these might be nice pressies from my daughter!
I'll be watching this with interest. Many thanks OP and to everyone for the great ideas!

Just about. I would sterilise the jars first.
Chillis and garlic I would pierce with a pin to release the flavours before adding to the oil.
Lemon I would slice."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0
