A couple of local independent garages are on the GoodGarageScheme.com website with some good reviews from supposedly past customers. Should these reviews be taken with a pinch of salt or does it genuinely mean that the garage in question won't rip me off?
Thanks

There is never a guarantee against a rip-off. But I'd be tempted to use one that does have good feedback over one that has bad feedback...Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

I think a problem with these schemes is there's no way to prove independently that an author of any review is a genuine customer or that they are not affiliated with the management/ownership of the garage in question.0

After a little Googling it turns out that the Good Garage Scheme is nothing more than a front for Forte engine additives. And is basically a con as no negative reviews get published.0
