Hi all,
Am trying to replace an old non-wireless hub with a Belkin Wireless Router and have a couple of installation problems hopefully someone can help me with.
Wireless setup side is done - SSID changes, WPA key set up and router connected to all computers.
I understand that for BT the connection type needs to be PPPoA, but I'm stuck for supplying a Username and Password to connect to t'internet.
Spend 25 minutes on phone to Bangalore and ended up no better off, but I have seen on a few other forums that this login info is generic ( btbroadband@btinternet.com and password is BT ) is that right???
Unfortunately cant spend any time experimenting as doing it for my daughter in my ex's house and she is expecting me in and out in 2 minutes so no time to play with settings.

According to this, BT broadband uses your phone number to authenticate so it doesn't really matter what you put in those boxes.
Prior to having a BT Home Hub, we used firstname.lastname@btbroadband.com without a password. If the Belkin asks you to enter the latter regardless, make one up.0 -
Hi There!
This is something I was sorting out for myself yesterday so I know it works ;-)

Hints on configuring a non-BT router
You need to ensure that your router is configured to work on ADSL lines in the UK. Within your router's settings you will need to input a telephone number or VPI/VCI standard. In both cases you should check that this is set to 0,38. Most ADSL routers supplied for sale in the UK will be pre-set to this.
You also require your BT Broadband username. This is made up of your.name@btbroadband.com where 'your' equals your first name and 'name' equals your surname, e.g. joe.bloggs@btbroadband.com. BT Broadband does not require that you enter a password to connect, but some routers won't connect to the Internet without a password. If this is the case, enter the word BT.
