I've got a tesco credit card which is 0 % on all purchases so i'm buying everything on it and every time i spend i am transferring the money off one of my credit cards at a higher rate to save on the interest.

Your idea about selling gold is a great one - i have a pile of stuff from being about 14 to 25 which i am never goiing to wear or do anything with so i'll make that my target to sort for the weekend - could you let me know which site you used?

That's a great idea on the credit card. It saves you balance transfer fees.

I did quite a bit of research into the gold and there is a whole thread somewhere on this site dedicated to discussing the different companies available. The general consensus seems to be avoid television advertised companies like the plague. So I did. A company called Hatton Garden Metals seemed to be highly rated, for service, reliability and above all a good price. Another MSEer gave me another couple of recommendations via my PM box but one of them at least had bad reviews on the thread. Hatton will give you a price instantly on their website. You just need to accurately weigh your gold which I did at the post office, and for peace of mind maybe take it to a local jewellers and get them to tell you what is 9ct and 18ct (which I didn't do). I did get a price locally though but it wasn't as good as Hatton. Good luck with that.

    Hi Skaps,

I have three bingo accounts. One with Butlins Bingo, one with virgin bingo and one with bingo britain.

The best by far has been bingo britain. Play £5 of your own money and then get £5 bonus every day for a month. Play every day and you will probably make a profit even though there are some deposit and withdrawal restrictions now. The other two bingo sites I just use for the free daily scratchcard. The sites don't really like it though and prefer you to deposit every now and again and play like a proper customer. But I don't. The risk is always there that they will shut your account but so far I've been ok. I usually win 10p or 25p a day on each one but have won £5 a couple of times. There is a thread somewhere dedicated to free bingo and scratchcards which will give you lots of info.
