You are confusing the two issues here
1) OP was entitled to a refund for original purchase
2) OP was not entitled to the difference in price back
However as said manager must have known they they would simply tie up his staff longer processing a refund ,then processing a sale as they would only have queued and bought a matching pair
Either way the original purchase WAS refundable"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -

The SOGA states repair, refund or replacement.
Yes - after the goods have been accepted. The customer on this occasion hadn't accepted the goods and returned them as they weren't as sold/meet the contract so was entitled to a full refund. However the shop has no obligation to sell them a new pair...0 -
refund or exchange at managers discretion, however the receipt price should of been used, the fact the price changed after the event doesnt matter unless a price match guarantee applies in that store.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
