I need a little advice about complaining to trading standards. I live in XXshire, but had some work carried out by a Builder from another County. Do I complain to XXshire Trading Standards or to the Trading Standards department where the builder is based?
Or to both?
Thanks

Start off with Consumer Direct, who will give you advice and put you in touch the relevant TS. Use one of the geo numbers at the bottom of the page unless you have 0845 numbers included in your phone package.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

The Trading Standards where the builders are based are most likely to deal with it, although by going to your Trading Standards, they will probably refer you on, or just pass the case on with your details. But, as has been pointed out, go to consumer direct first.0 -
I complained to consumer direct about a builder and they referred my case to my local Trading Standards even though the builder is from another county. However, I have heard nothing since. Probably due to the holiday season.
Trading standards are getting in touch with him for me.0 -
Thanks, I will start off with Consumer Direct.0
