I'd probably go for a 7 seater to give you enough room for pasengers and luggage. Sat Nav would be useful if you're doing a fair bit of driving. Just make sure you choose one of the all-in packages that include all your insurance, especially CDW.

I used this firm in April and found them to be the cheapest. My son has also booked with them for September and got a good deal for a 7 seater and good rates for young drivers.

I agree with the previous post uscarhire. Just got back from California used them for two weeks hire of an suv. Best price, great customer service full refund service if cancelled and no excess. Cant recommend them highly enough. I called first to check them out and they couldnt have been more helpful. Best firm I have used and cant recommend them enough.

I was going to go with Dollar but went with Hertz, as they were cheaper, Avis were close but Hertz worked out better with the sat nav. They also did me a Ford Mustang for the same price as a Chrysler Sebring, which can't be bad! Use www.quidco.com for a bit of extra cashback, got an extra £7.50 and paid out very quickly.

Hertz are roughly about £100 dearer for a seven seater. Their Neverlost system is also unavailable on the 7 seater fords they use.

Agree that Hertz are excellent a lot of the time, espceially if you hit them when they are having some sort of promotion.
