Firefox under Windows 7 Pro.

Unusual one this, I've installed Win 7 Pro 64-bit (got it for £30 as am student), FF works, but it now closes all the tabs when I shut it down. have tried all the usual settings, but as yet no luck.

Anyone got any ideas?.

    Hi
I had this problem when I upgraded Firefox to v3.5.6.
    Look in Preferences > Privacy.
There's a box that says 'Clear history when Firefox closes'.
Make sure that box is not ticked.
    That cured it for me.
Also I'm not starting Firefox in a private session either.

However, I've found since upgrading to W7Pro (haha, same deal as you!), that Chrome works much better in general, and is considerably faster. Might work for you too :)

Silly me, had another look in prefs and realised I'd unticked a box by error.

Am now enjoying having a 64-bit o/s on a 64-bit pc, It runs faster than anything I've used before, and now leaves my son's Imac standing.

Don't upset the Mac crowd
  • don't forget you can do the following FF tweaks to make it even faster

Type in the address bar about:config.
Type pipelining in the filter bar.
Double-click on network.http.pipelining to set its value to TRUE.
Double-click on network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and change its value to 12 or more if you have broadband. (I have mine set to 100).
