I've been looking at tv's for about a week now and i've still no idea which one to buy and I really want to get one before the VAt goes up so any help would be great.
I'm after a 42 inch Lcd to use with virgin V plus and a Wii with a price range of 400-600 pounds which one is the best as so far it looks like either an LG or a samsung are coming up at the best price and quality, if you could include models numbers and any sites you would recommend to buy from.
Thanks

Heres some reviews to peruse ~

Personally id go for this Sony 40" ~

Or maybe this 42" panasonic Plasma ~

Things to look for are ~
resolution ~ At that price you should really be looking for 1080P
Connections ~ Does it have everything you need now, does it have 3 HDMIs or more (For later)
Sound ~ most flat screen tvs sound cr*p
Scaling ~ watching anything other than full 1080P material means the tv needs to SCALE. If it has a poor internal scaler then it wont look too hot
Lag ~ LCD screens have a LAG factor which can affect gaming. Plamas tend to have no lag:idea:0 -
Can you accomodate a 42" screen? It sounds good in your dreams but in real life it's a different ball game. 42" is fine in a pub but we live in older house, with a fair sized lounge, and I bought a 37" which just about works. My daughter has the same size in a space about 2/3 the size and it looks ridiculous. Also, at the lower end of the market (I can't comment on the higher end), the picture is worse on a larger screen0

A 42" screen isn't that big nowadays. We have a 37" Plasma in our smallish living room and it's fine. I think a 42" would be OK but wouldn't go bigger than that.
To be honest if I ws you I'd go for the Panasonic Plasma alienrik mentioned. But I generally prefer the picture on Plasmas rather than LCDs.
If you have V+ dont' worry too much about the scaler int eh TV, just leave it to the V+ box as they are reckoned to hve very good scalers built in.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
