I got a letter form the DWP letting me know I need to have all new evidence in by the 29-01-10.
The only thing I can say is at least I am not loosing out at the moment, because my new claim starts the beginning of feb, hopefully it will all be sorted by then.
I have been extremely lucky with my GP.
You say you're not losing out at the moment but make sure you send new evidence A.S,A.P. because they may take some time to make their decision, and February is only around 4 weeks away! If you're not careful you could find yourself without payment for a while.0 -
Torbunk,
I have already been awarded with LRM and MRC, I have been told I will still get this paid and if they decide to award me with the higher of either I will be backdated to when it was supposed to start. I hope this is correct.0 -
Sorry to bump an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice on here. I have just recently been diagnosed with FMA, and it feels such a relief to have an explanation as to why I'm in pain ALL THE TIME! It's become the baseline in my life and as such I don't notice it all the time, does that make sense? I got the DLA form a while back but didn't send it in because I thought I was over-reacting. However the thing is, our old banger could conk out at any moment and I would be hard pressed to go anywhere on bad days, probably not even to the corner shop due to the pain. I think I'm going to apply this time. If I were lucky enough to get HRM I would not have to worry about whether I was going to be stuck in the house again.*Insert interesting words here*0

hi i have been experiencing all symptoms of ME/CFS seen a specialist today who was fab Dr M Llewelyn and been diagonised with Fibromyalgia. my question is can i claim DLA? and can i claim while still employed?

Yes, you can claim it, as DLA is not an 'out of work' benefit.
Decisions are made purely on care needs and/or mobility needs.
Obviously, what job you do MAY impact on what decisions is made - so I wouldn't bother trying if you are a hod carrier or something.
Have a look at this:

And, this site enables to do a sort of 'home assessment' as to whther you may fit the criteria for getting it:

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
