Filling the forms for few Graduate Schemes with tomorrow deadlines.
How about Employment Agencies? I used them years ago for not professional work, but with economic changes, I don't think they may be a good option(hope I'm wrong).
And thanks for replies.
Avoid them if possible.
Lots of companies from multi-nations to small employers have found recruiting graduates through the university directly saves on costs. Therefore they will advertise through your actual department first then your university careers service.
I've worked for companies that have recruited graduates who worked for them as students during the summer or via an industrial placement.
If you get feedback that you have not got enough experience I suggest go and do some voluntary work for a few months and work in a more menial job to support yourself, then apply to a graduate scheme or employer directly again with all the work on your CV.
Agencies particularly IT ones tend to only want people with experience so you can waste a lot of time registering with them.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Really disappointed...
From my first 5 Job Applications receive 5 no's.
I thought my good results and job experiences will make it easy to be accepted in a graduate scheme.
Read some reviews about universities and I believe that the Uni you go will be a factor, and unfortunately I haven't been in one of the good ones.
What a shame.
But 4 now will have to focus on exams.0 -
I wouldn't be too disheartened. Its tough at the moment and its not likely that you are going to get the first job that you apply for. Grad schemes are really tough to get on and I'm sure they aren't for everybody. I've had an interviews for 3 grad schemes/posistions but unfortunately haven't got past that point yet (although 2 weren't really what I wanted to do, so maybe a blessing).
You've got rejections, this is a good thing! Honestly. At least they have acknowledged your application, not hearing anything back is the most frustrating thing.

In the current climate I'm not too surprised. Companies have either drastically reduced their graduate intake or have put a freeze on recruitment altogether.0

Where is IBM Graduates Place??
Can I be based anywhere in the UK?
Although we have offices around the UK, we require our graduates to be flexible in terms of where they will work. As a lot of the work is client facing you may need to be based on a client site. Graduates joining as Software Developers are normally based in Hursley, near Winchester. Those joining Finance are normally based in Portsmouth.0 -
Thanks.
This is what I was looking 4.0 -
