Someone drove up my rear off a main A road.. I was in the right hand lanel indicating right as I wanted to cross the road and turn into the town.. it was a dual carriage way.
They apologised and said they couldn't stop because of the Ice, which I could understand as it was Icy.
I never got name and address, only the registration number but they did offer.
I was a little shaken up over it and reported it to the insurance company as my husband said I must because of the potential damage to the car.. bumper fine and just scratched but really hard to tell whether they were from the bump then or just there anyways
The tracking is out again (it was only repaired about 5 days before this) but my husband says this cant be because of the car going up my rear end as tracking is only out if you hit something..
Anyways.. if there is a problem with my Car will their insurance pay out? I never reported it to police because the girl was very nice about it and asked me if I was OK etc..
But I only have registration details.

Tracking is a front of car thing...you can have your tracking done and 5 mins later hit a pothole that will knock it out. Sounds like there's no real damage here to be honest?0

How can I know if there is a problem with my Car until it has been checked out by a garage?
The Car hasn't been driven since it happened and with it being Christmas there has been no chance of having anyone look at it.
With small children being driven around I want to make sure it is safe and almost £300 was spent on it making sure it was safe.
Why should I be out of pocket because someone hit my car?:cool:0 -
You can get details of the insurers of the car, just from the registration, here:
http://www.askmid.com/
This is the Motor Insurers Database and will, for £3.50, give you the details of the insurers of the car in question.
The thing to do is get your car back to the garage that sorted out the tracking in the first place and say "the tracking is still no good, please fix it" and they'll probably do it for free.
With the rear bumper, phone your insurers and ask them for the details of the nearest approved repairers to you. Tell them that you just want to get a quote for some work that needs doing and would rather use someone they trust - ok, this is a little white lie, but as you say, there may be nothing wrong with the car!! Phone the garage and tell them you had a minor bump and just want them to check everything is ok. If it's not, they'll give you a quote to get it repaired and tell you whether the car is safe to drive. You can send the quote direct to the other person's insurers if you want.In the beginning, the universe was created.
