Incapacity Review starting any advice?

I have recieved a letter from the benefits agency headed your incapacity review. I've been dreading a review coming up but anyway all this asks is about any change of circumstances if am I in work now etc and doctors name and address. I have to just give that info and send it off.

Is this the beginning of a nightmare review? part of my problem is I have difficulty going out for physical and mental reasons. I'm worried sick if I have to visit anyone for a medical. I have always had them come to visit me but I know things have changed and they may not do it. Because of this I don't even visit the doctor even though its only bout 100 yards from my house. I've fallen down 3 times in the last 3 weeks just outside my house putting the wheelie bin out ect and I'm just too nervous to go out the doctor doesnt even know about it. I could never manage to get to the signing on office if they stop my benefit so I'm panicing quite a lot

Is this the normal procedure? will I get a form next time to fill in then a medical? I couldnt even go to cits advice without huge problems if theres anything go wrong and I have to appeal
Thanx

    Lady_K,

Why not phone Citizens Advice or other Welfare Benefit Advisors in your area and check whether you should be entitled to a home visit if you aren't able to go to the centre? Also some CABx can do home visits if you need any other advice from them or help filling in forms etc. At least if you know you can get a home visit it will put your mind at rest a bit.

Also can you phone the doctor to do a home visit? Keeping your doctor up to date in an important part of your claim, and maybe you need some attention after the falls you have taken?

The falls really shocked me, I was bruised and achy for a while but I didnt break anything, I was lucky not to those times but may not be so lucky next time if it happens again. I do tend to deal with things on my own but when it comes to this review I know not going to the doctor could go against me like you say so I just panicked.

I really would not want to put the doctor out to do a home visit. I get by at home but I know I am not capable of work and to be honest shes not that great a doctor at all. I get my prescriptions on repeat so I don't have to go at all

The cits advice is always engaged when I've tried to ring but I'll try anyway. Dont the benefits agewncy do home visits now then? They have come to see me about 3 times I think, a Doctor but the last time was about 3 years ago now.

What is the usual procedure after this letter has been returned?

On the last page it says have there been any other changes in your circumstances since we last contacted you? Do they just want financial and home situation there or anything health related stuff?
    Thanx

It could be Citizens Advice or another Advice Centre near to you that advise on benefits. Any local disabled centre might have one for example too. You can do a search using "google" for example putting the name of where you live plus "welfare benefits advisors" to find out if you have one locally.

I just rang the benefits agency number on the form and they said its nothing to do with a medical its just a letter they send out every 2 years to see if my circumstances have changed. Don't know if its the first step towards re assessment though but I'll have to wait and see. Going to try n visit the Doctor in the meantime
    Thanx
