Evening all.

I have a subscription with Lovefilm for films and games for £14.68 a month (unlimited, 2 discs at a time). But have just downgraded my package to just films, because I do get games (eventually) but mostly they just sit on the rental list for ages, even if marked as high priority.

Have decided to start a separate games rental package with another company in the hope I will start getting some of the games I request.

Can anyone recommend something cheap and cheerful? Have looked at GAME and they seem quite expensive. Have also been looking at Boomerang and they seem quite reasonable for what I want. Has anyone got any advice on which is the best to use.

Personally I buy them then sell them when finished.

i use www.find-games.co.uk to locate the game at the cheapest price, play it until i get bored with it, then flog it on ebay. Usually only costs me a few £'s.
  • Thanks for your reply, but that wasn't what I was asking.

Buying games and then reselling them on Ebay is all very well. But after you've accounted for the Ebay fees, the fact you can't add P&P and then they sell for next to nothing, then you are quite a bit out of pocket.

I don't tend to sell games on Ebay any more, I trade them in at the shop which is a lot less hassle. Unless the game is a USA one, which game shops won't take.

I was asking about trying games first, not spending £20 - £30 then finding out it's rubbish.

Anyway, I have signed up for a trial with Boomerang, just picked the lowest package which is £3.68 for one game per month. Which should be ok for me.

A colleague at work uses Tesco for renting PS3 games. No idea of the costs but he seems happy with it.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
