Leaky roof

Hi

We have a utility room that is the old cold shed from the house. It is a single brick room with a flat roof. I am not quite sure what it is made of. Inside it is wood bored and outside it seems to have a silver coating which the birds like to peck at. i am guessing that it has something else in between. It doesn't seem to be felted or anything.

With the cold weather we noticed that the wood inside seemed to have some frost on it so water must be coming in in patches. I need some advise on how to repair it.

Do you think we can patch up the roof? Will painting liquid bitumin on the outside help to seal it?

Any advise would be great
Thanks

    I don't think you've got a leak. I think you've got condensation!

    Cheers

I agree, could well be condensation. May not be a leak at all, will be difficult to tell until everything stops freezing.

    Hi,

I think that we have both. I can see the condensation on the inside in some parts but there is one bit that matches where the birds have pecked of the silver coating on the outside where water has come in too. I think putting some sort of sealant on it might be good for now until all this snow and rain stops and we can have a proper look.

    Thanks
