...Or has everyone said to themselves "Well we're in a recession thats not going to get better anytime quick so if we have any available credit we'll spend it and perhaps catch up later"

Any thoughts?

  • I have not spent a penny today , for me it tighten the belt, will all those splashing out today be next years posters on these boards ?
  • I have bought a couple of things in the sales, mostly bedding, which I needed. I have saved quite a bit on things I needed to buy anyway, so it's a bargain as far as I'm concerned. However a lot of people seem to buy stuff just because its cheap, or because they want it, rather than need it.

If you need it, can afford it and get it cheaper by waiting for the sales, then go for it!!

Part of me wanted to go out and look for some bargains, then I realised I don't actually need anything. I'll be damned if I'm going to go back into debt, buying stuff I don't need just because the retailers/media/politicians say I must spend to save the country's economy!
