Currys....... brill

:j Bought a LCD TV on Monday at Currys and on Thursday it was reduced by £50.

I checked their price promise and it stated that they would refund the difference if 1 of 4 stated retailers on their site had it cheaper within 7 days of purchase. Unfortunately they didnt but I thought I would contact customer services and ask them about refunding the difference within store.

They did say that it was up to the manager and he agreed to refund £50........top class :j

Very happy!!
Life is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:

Recently bought a blu ray player from them and was really surprised with the quality of the service - really cheerful, helpful staff, and according to a friend that works for them, they are not on commision which makes it even more surprising.

They are on a team bonus. When the store achieves it's target for the period, the staff receive a small bonus; if their sales exceed the target then the bonus is larger. I used to work in a small Currys branch and was rewarded very well for my sales, but I left when the recession hit because the branch was suffering badly.

The sales staff who generate the most margin receive the larger share of the bonus. So it's not a personal commission but it does ensure that people who are not pulling their weight are not tolerated (as they impact the bonus) and it rewards the better sellers.

Personally, I received more money on the team bonus scheme than the commission that preceded it. Sales staff in larger, busier stores suffered the opposite and a lot of them left around the time the bonus was introduced. The commission scheme had a high threshold of sales to achieve before you started earning anything extra; it was easier to surpass the threshold in larger destination stores.
  • I work for Currys, I started in June.
We are "Fives" trained, to help get sales and find out what the customer really needs. It may seem pushy to some people but the customers are always happy.

We do receive individual commission now...and they have held the bonus targets, which gives the staff the potential to double their wage packets in January and Feburary, through performances in December.
