Severn Trent have seriously impressed me!

I have a water meter so am charged for the water I actually use. (If you live on your own, get one as it will save you loads.) In November, an engineer called to say my metre was reading incorrectly. He fixed it and advised me to query my next bill as the old meter's readings were too high. My bill was 3 times the usual amount - - so I made a claim and Severn Trent have now taken a meter reading and multiplied backwards to work out my actual usage. Brilliant - and I am usually suspicious of utility companies. :T

Feeling the pinch but trying to bring down that mortgage - thank heavens for MSE.com!
:hello:

  • Was there an imperial to metric conversion applied when your bill, i.e., assuming your meter's reading in cubic feet instead of cubic metres (and this can happen on gas bills too)?

Actually, now that I think about it, it may have been something else as any conversion factor should have been listed on your bills/statements (again, that might just apply to gas meters).

PS Please don't hate me, but I work for Severn Trent at the moment :)
