Hiya Jules - yes I'm female, mum to 4 lovely children under 11, part-time Supervisor and soon to be adopted mum to 2 tiny little rescue kitties awwwww.........

Totally agree with you, about the moneysavings, my post above was in some ways an illustration of how productive snipping coupons can be. I have just sorted out my vouchers, checking expiry dates etc and will do my main shop tomorrow at Tescos using some of the fab vouchers I got today which are higher value.

Here's wishing you lots of money savings - all the best Michelle aka Welshy x.

Welcome to the coupon club, jubarnes26!

I used 3 x 30p Real People vouchers to get 3 free copies today, and have just sat down and cut out all the vouchers ready to use tomorrow!

Make sure you use the House Beautiful ones to your advantage - coupons for over £1 are best kept for those days when you are told '3 coupons only if you don't buy the product' by some jobsworth cashier! Because I have built up such a stash of various coupons I tend to pick & choose what to use where.

Also, don't feel you have to go to self-scan. Young lads on the tills may take loads of coupons without question - give them a try with a small shop and remember the friendliest chaps for next time.

Broke the habit of a lifetime today and took my Mum to Sainsburys. Felt a bit worried beforehand about not being able to use coupons (withdrawal symptoms) so I went through my stash and selected items I may actually buy while there (e.g. the Real People Mags, bread rolls, cheese etc.).

Well, it wasn't bad! As Mum and I spent over £50 between us as one transaction, I used Sainsbury's £10 off a £50 shop (eBay purchase) and another £10 in coupons by telling the lad 'I bought that, and that, and that one' which was mostly true (but I had given him 3 of each coupon for starters, and only bought one such item or just something vaguely similar). Being a young lad he didn't ask to check my shopping.

By the way, while there I double-checked with a Supervisor that Sainsbury's haven't suddenly decided to accept coupons when you don't buy the product. They have not, so no change there then, may pop in again in a year or so but no rush!

    :o

It was "real" funny at work when I arrived with 9 daily mail and 3 real people and began to cut the papers at the end of day and say to people.... would you like to take a paper is on me

the funny thing is that my colleagues don't see the point of all this... ohhhhhhhh never mind.. I'll have to train then. This weekend one of my colleagues is going to try for 1st time to give 3 small" coupons courtesy of moi to see if she is brave enough.. good luck.

By the way I got alll those papers wiht only 2.50 spent..as I had 200 points in Whsmith with the online voucher from before. BArgain

Hiya Luz - when there are money off vouchers in the Times in my office and I snip around the paper racks my colleagues in work declare they would never do such a thing as hand over vouchers ....... well, more fool them as I have the money savings and they do not ! From my initial 3 Real People magazines I gave one to a work colleague explaining what I planned to do on a shopping trip but after a few minutes her eyes glazed over !! she was grateful of the free mag though
