I am not sure if this will apply nationally but certainly all the Tesco filling stations in our area now charge 20p to inflate your tyres and the same machine charges £1 to dispense upto 5L of screen wash. The majority of cars washer bottles wont hold 5L. Therefore if you take an empty container with you when you fill up you can dispense the full 5L (Fill your washer bottle first and the remainder into the empty container) This can be stored in you boot and used the next time you run out of screen wash and your windscreen is covered in salt spray!!

This is a great deal but check when you start pumping that it is screenwash that comes out. I filled my wives car up and the machine had run out of concentrate so it filled it with water, not good in the freezing cold.
I complained and got my pound back and they explained that the screenwash is run by another company.0 -
Lovely. Should I be thanking you or the person that put it on HUKD this morning? The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Well I thanked the original poster because this was news to me, but I won't be thanking you. This is a website for people to share relevant deals (and there's little enough of that) not some competition.0 -

I don't use "HUKD" or whatever it is... does that mean I'm not entitled to hear about it on MSE?
Why assume everyone on here uses something else as well, ust because you do?
to the OP. thank you. although Sainsbury's still gives out free air & water, and as posted above, concentrated screenwash works out 10 litres (or more when on BOGOF!) for £1GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0 -
A word of caution on the screenwash front though. Cheaper ones (including the Tesco one, which caused my problem) don't contain anti-bacterial inhibitors. They can go "off", and algae will reproduce in them like wildfire.
The smell is horrific. It'll linger in your car for hours, and take several flushes through of your system before it abates.
Google Screenwash smell and you'll see it being described as anything from "rotten eggs" to "cat wee." I described it as "rancid Armadillo vomit." I first copped it when stuck in M/way traffic, with no airflow to get rid of the smell- I almost had to pull over & throw up. Not nice.Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -
I buy the Asda screenwash too - seems great value, certainly got rid of the ice very quickly although it must be the 'rotten egg' smell brand, either that or I ate too many dime bars on my journey.0

Thanks to the OP.
I also post deals on HUKD that have not been posted on here, but to be fair I always add a thanks to the HUKD poster within the post.Next year we'll be millionaires!0
