  • Thank you for all your lovely comments, has inspired me to do some more!!
Wanted to do something a bit different & unusual but obviously being new to this needed some opinions!!
Kandipandi: the brooches are not actually that heavy, they look huge on the pictures but are only about 7cm in diameter, good point though!
thistledome: A multicoloured one would be great especially as multicoloured seems to be in all the shops! I will make one & put photo on asap (& yes they are hand made)
Once again thanks for the comments, I have a few other ideas I will need opinions on soon!! xxxxxxxxxxxxx
2012 wins: American Anthem tickets, Illamasqua lipstick & mascara, Wireless tickets, Bakin boys cupcakes, Hotel Chocolat, Trip to LA & £500 spending money, cinema tickets, goodwood tickets, cocktail night at waldorf hotel, parmesan, Flip goody bag & case Relentless drink, Coke T-shirt, Gaymers cider, Bruce Lee T-shirt, DVD & poster:j

Tracy, those brooches are lovely, can I just make a little suggestion?

The ends of your black wire, you can see the copper under the coating, when that happens to me, I dab a little bit of black permanent marker over the exposed bit of wire, if you do it with a fine point pen, then you don't risk getting any on the beads. :)

    Hi
My friend has just got a new job working with children and i would like to get her a badge like these
    w w w.polymerclay. co.nz/nzpcg/karyn.html

Does anyone know where I can buy something similar in the UK, as they do not ship here.

    Many thanks

    Fiona

Hi, had a look at these, they are very cute.Which one did you like?
They look easy to make, are you arty? mabye you could try and make her one? I would offer to do one but im not very good at doing faces. You could buy a starter kit online (I like the craft cellar) or from Hobbycraft, that way you would have a few colours without having to spend too much. I bought the one to make farm animals as it was reduced to £1.99, it had 4 colours in it and one of them was flesh coloured. I would use gloves to make this too as you would see all the fingerprints. goodluck, let us know if you decide to have a go.

Tracey- I love your brooches, im a big fan of brooches that are a bit different and handmade, yours are gorgeous.

I'm really enjoying making these memory wire bracelets (I've done 2 more, they'll be on my blog later) I was just wondering if anyone knew where the best place would be to buy the wire? I'm wanting to/would rather buy it in bulk but I can ony find it ready cut to a size, can you buy it on the reel? sos for all the question :)

I've just found out today theres a bead shop in my town, he told me they've been in the town for ages....must have had my eyes closed!! lol It might now become a regular stop off point when I'm shopping :D

I have bought both, I have some ready cut and I bought a larger section of it (which was about 3 bracelets worth) from Totally Beads but I'm sure you can get larger uncut quanitites.

I buy my memory wire from ebay.co.uk Usually about 99p + postage for a coil of 40. Often you can buy other beads/findings with no extra postage
