Given the bit rate of a radio station (in kbps) is it possible to calculate how much a 64MB SD card will record?

128 kbps will give approximately 1 minute, and use approximately 1MB.

64MB is small. Go to Morrisons and get their 4GB for £5.

Thanks but the maximm size I can use in this radio is 2GB. It came with a 64MB so I was wondering how long a recording that would give.

Thanks, sad though it may seem but I'm interested in where those figures come from. The radio station of interest broadcasts at 48kbps so how many minutes will fit onto the 64MB (or 2GB card)?

That's pretty much what taffybiker said. 1 minute uses 1MB at 128kbps.

At 48kbps, you can expect approx. 2.5 hours on a 64MB card, but quality will suffer at that rate.
