Packard Bell MX37S200 Laptop

Hi,
My Dad bought me a new laptop last year for Uni but I didn't make a restore disc (Vista). Now it is one month out of warranty and Currys don't want to know. Has anyone made one of these discs who could send me a copy pleeeaaasssse? Packard Bell want a fortune and Currys want £229 to fix it!!!!!!!!

  • The support page for your laptop is here - http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?pn=PC10E06901&g=2000

What i would do is download everything on the page into a folder (name it something like laptop recovery) and burn it to cd/dvd. Next you will need an appropriate copy of Windows (presuming you have the Windows key sticker on the bottom of your laptop).

Now if you need to reinstall Windows you have all the drivers and software you need.
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.

Are you saying that you have a problem with this laptop? If so, it might be a good idea to say what it is, rather than to talk about restore/recovery CDs (which may come later)...

surely the laptop has a restore partition on it if it is a HP and only a year old, what exactly is the problem?
  • Sorry if I wasn't very clear! The machine will not boot and asks for the restore disc. don't have anything backed up so I can reload but I do have the product key on the machine.

but does the laptop have a restore partition or not?
  • Sorry i don't know what you mean. When I switch it on the only screen that comes up says I need to put in the restore disc and I don't get any other option.

Where did HP come from? The title of the thread makes it clear that it's a Packard Bell

This may work for you. DSG Group are being patently ridiculous. Maybe that's the cost of a refurbished machine.
