why not ring him up and have a chat about it tomorrow ?
i actually do understand why a turkey farmer might be exceptionally busy at this time of year0 -
Oh I do understand that he has things to do. I just find it annoying that he was pushy about having people for viewings before I was happy to...which by the way I suggested he could start them as soon as we had all the boxes out which would be the 21st of November...still giving him three weeks to show people round. He said that just wasn't suitable and I'd just have to have people round. I didn't want to start quoting the law because like I say I didn't want to upset him because of our deposit. I just feel like I say that we went out of our way to be helpful yet we are left waiting.
Clutton : Do you feel a phone call is suitable? It is purely because I read so many people getting told off for communicating over the phone and not by paper?0 -
""Do you feel a phone call is suitable?"" of course - what have you got to lose ? if he makes a promise to return it by x date and then does not (ask for it within the week) - then write to him.....0

Paragraphs are your friend... it really does make it hard to read!
The longer he leaves the check-out, and the fact that there was no check-in, mean that it is very unlikely that you will get a serious deduction from your deposit should the issue come to court. The damp issue would be the main point of contention but even that would be hard to demonstrate fault to the court.
He has left it longer than reasonable to return the deposit but it is a long way from the most unreasonable timescale yet. Can appreciate that being stood up at the property is a pain!
Like clutton (and members of my family are in agriculture so I know a bit about the life) I can understand why a peak season for a crop could be very busy. That's not an excuse for him, but it is something that happens.
This should now be quietening down over the next week so get back in touch with a reminder, and if there are no results by the new year write your letter before action.0 -
I don't really understand why you have started your own thread, it's only been two weeks and the case isn't particularly unique or complicated?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
