I did that too, and as an apology for the hassle I got free delivery. Although most of what I wanted sold out while I was sorting it all out. Did get two dresses and a nice top for £22 though.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I was online at 7.45 and had some great stuff in my basket but by the time I went to checkout half of it came up as out of stock. Next always do this and it really annoys me - if I was in a shop with a product in my basket they would not be able to remove and tell me it had sold old it so how comes the same is not true online!!

because alot of people browse online, and fill imaginary baskets - then never checkout - i dont know of any online retailer that updates stock levels, prior to checkout - most dont even update stock levels until dispatch, so that could be days with items still showing as instock

The website is pants ! I don't know if it is always like this or is this a watered down functionality version to cope with the large number of people visiting their site but you can't zoom into see any of the items nor is there an adequate feature description of most of the products.

the sale is mainly aimed at people who subscribe to the catalogue, so yes, at sale time, next run a basic website, and you have to refer back to the catalogues, or just hope the small online pic and item title, is enough for you to work out what it actually is - you really have to read the titles, as sometimes its not the main item in the pic that is being referred to, it could be a different colourway, or just an accessory that the model might be wearing

I was in store in Stoke today - absolutely manic!!! Everyone said that this was the worse year yet and they should have opened at 5 - I was really lucky as they stopped people coming in just after me and tbh most of it had already gone by the time I got in there - I too just grabbed anything that had a 12-18 or 18-24 month label on it and sorted it out when I got home - slightly annoyed that I've still be charged full price for a couple of items so will be taking them back on Monday along with 2 of the 5 coats for DS that I bought - must have been that tired!!!

OMG why does any child need 5 coats!!! :rotfl: He must be the best dressed kid in school! :D

Did see a few people with a buggy - beyond me why you'd do that!

It was not through choice. I was given a gift voucher for Next for christmas for my little boy so didn't see why I shouldn't go to the sale just because I had to take him. If you don't have a babysitter what else can you do

I agree why should you leave your kids at home. My 6 year old loves coming shopping with me as he picks all his clothes, today though I did leave my 4 month old at home but usually he would come 2. Some people are so rude to people with a buggy

Hmm, I'm on the fence on this one! I do always feel sorry for people with prams as some shops can be badly laid out and difficult to maneouvre around, and people can be very unsympathetic towards them.

But I also see some mums using them to shove others out of the way! I have lost count of the number of times I've had a pram clip/whack me on the ankle, ouch. And it is sometimes deliberate! Strangely, it seems to happen in Primark more often than anywhere else. :rotfl:

It's beyond me why some people are so bloomin' rude about small children in pushchairs - like they are not allowed to shop too!!

    Ahem. Anyway... :D
I went along to the Wigan Arcade store at about 11.30am and it was busy, but not hammered.
We got some Next vouchers for Christmas, so I kitted out my 2 year old's wardrobe for next year! I spent £156 in less than 30 mins! :D
There was no queue and strangely not a lot of people buying kids clothes.... But a LOT buying gift sets (possibly for next year?!).

So I am very, very, pleased with the stuff I got & I'm so glad I went a long on Boxing day this year, as it was no-where near as 'bad' as I thought it was going to be. :D

Yo would have loved the women in my local store who were using their pushchair as a trolley and no child in sight

They are not shopping through choice though are they? As someone who has always gone to NEXT's early openings (i seem to think even as early as 3am once!) I could never imagine dragging my children out of bed in the middle of the night, dressing them and then taking them into the madness of a NEXT sale for a couple of hours (sometimes longer when queues have been particularly bad), surely no child would enjoy that? If for some reason I couldn't leave them at home I would have waited until later and risked missing a few bargains.

i`v only ever gone to the sale early mornings when my husband is at home to look after our 2 young kids. they both absolutely hate shopping!!!!! l would never drag them into the sales, l would much rather skip them and hope next time the hubbys at home ;)
Anyhows decided to skip going to my local Next as its not as big as the lakeside one... so went all the wayyyy to lakeside, got there at about 6.10 am and teh place was heaving:eek: l couldnt even see teh clothes properly there was that much pushing... l felt l was in a stampede ;)
no kids clothes whatsoeva left in the sizes l needed and worst of all l only managed to grab a coat n a pair of jeans and had to que for 2 hours to pay for the blinkin things:mad::mad::mad:
NEVER AGAIN will l go there again!!!! big big mistake l much prefer my local now after what i`v experienced!!! it was terrible.
