Have prices bottomd out in the electricity supply market ?

Options
I'm on the verge of switching to British Gas Websaver 5 (from E-on) and I have been following the market for some time and I think the market is near the bottom as the last raft of current deals don't seem to be at a lower price (electricity only - no gas in the property) and the trend to higher exit penalties seems to be increasing.

I would like your thoughts.

Who knows! The exit fees only apply for a few months so I'd just sign up anyway and then if there are better deals later on (a few months down the line), change then.
  • I have just registered here as I am pulling my hair out simply trying to find out what the electricity day and night unit prices are for websaver 5 with BG?
I have been on WS 1 for a while and can do my own tariff comparisons easily enough but cannot find the BG rates anywhere online or even on their website?
Being of a certain age and having worked in the electricity industry for 30 years I am very wary of simply accepting what someone tells me over the phone unless that is I can verify the figures myself on paper. Why don't they simply make it easy by giving you a tariff structure, I am sure if thet did they would sign up more customers, what are they trying to hide?

    I'm on WS5 and I pay per quarter: First 125 kWh @ 18.629p and the next 6 kWh x 8.157p
  • seems it gives a 6%discount from their standard tariff so if you find that then deduct 6%

    @ an engineer

    Try https://www.britishgas.co.uk/PriceFinder/Entry/

even though Websaver5 is not listed Websaver4 brings up 5's results
  • Many thanks to you all for "instant" replies, I am very grateful and impressed.

I forgot to say that as I am all electric (no gas or oil) I am on Economy 7 tariff and so I need the rates for both, sorry !

At present on WS 1, I pay:-
    NIGHT UNITS at 4.125p
DAY UNITS first 126 at 25.604p and then 11.742p all PLUS VAT at 5%

    Thanks again, brilliant help !
