sofa ordered from harveys

Options
hi all
got a bit of a grumble with harveys furniture store, ordered a new sofa for £1100 3 weeks ago (left £300 deposit ) should be delivered feb or march
just noticed same sofa is now reduced by 50%.
i did make a point of asking the sales chap if i would be better off coming back in the new year, i was told the sofa in question was new and would not be included in the next sale

should i complain or just put it down to experience and move on
any suggestions would be helpful.

Even if you sacrificed your deposit and re-ordered at the new price, you would still be better off.

There will be a few posters along soon asking how you would feel if the price had gone UP 50%. :)
  • Worst company I have ever had experience with. I would cancel order and get one elsewhere. They have a great array of excuses when your sofa doesnt turn up.

if you can cancel the order and buy else where they wont deliver when they say i bought 2 3 seater sofas in october they gauranteed pre xmas delivery they did not it was after xmas when eventually after 4 days off work waiting for false delivery dates they gave me someone elses order i have a case on going with trading standards regarding harveys the rubbish be warned
  • The sales person you spoke to may not have been aware that the price was going to change, however I would have waiting until the "Sales" just to check. When I worked for them we would not be given details of what offers we were going to have until a week or so before hand (if we were lucky). Have you spoken to the store and asked if they will give you a discount - unlikely they will but it maybe worth a try. If you cancel you are likely to lose your deposit.

Ultimately you like the sofa you ordered and felt that the price charged was fair - chalk it up to experience.
