I think my cat is losing the plot!

I have a 9 year tabbie moggy who up untill recently was a very loving and friendly cat.
About 2 months ago for no apparent reason she would stay in my bedroom all the time (she sleeps under my bed at night) refusing to leave even for food!
After a month of this a strong odour was starting to waft from my room so I knew she was now using my bedroom as a toilet:eek:
One evening recently she did come down for food so i nipped up staires and closed my bedroom door;) Upon her return she went totally mad and starting freaking out running around the house at a very high speed and making this awful horrible noise.
Everytime I tried to get near her it was like she didn't know me and kept running away, eventually she ran out through the catflap.
For a week after this she refused then to come in. She would sit by the door to come in, I'd open it and she would run away. She would cry outside as well to come in but run off everytime I would open the door. During this time while I was home the catflap remained open. But closed when at work to stop the other cats on the estate coming in.
Eventually she came in, driven in by hunger and the cold I think. Since she came back in she isn't the same its like I'm a stranger and all she does is hide and wont let me stroke her!
Now today, christmas day she is back outside and refusing to come in again but crying all the time she sees me.
I'm worried my neighbours will think Im being cruel by not letting her in and report me or something, but I'm not!
My other cat, a tom is fine he comes and goes as normal and its not him thats caused her to behave like this as they are together when he goes outside.
I asked my vet for advice and they said to bring her in so they could have a look at her, easier said than done I'm afraid!
Has anyone any suggestions why she is like this as the only thing I can think of is she is losing the plot and gone stir crazy!!
Please help as this is really doing my head in

She could have an injury or some other pain which is really troubling her. Or she might be going a bit senile. You really do need to take her to the vet, she is suffering.0

There is no way that she is pregnant or may have had babies in your room? It is possible that you may not hear the babies if they are very young.
Other than that, she may have taken to hiding in your room because she was frightened by something. Your bedroom became a santuary for her and she is upset because she can't get to that now.
I would advise that you take her to the vet as soon as you can to make sure she hasn't been hit by a car and to let her back into your room until you can get to the vet so that she feels more comfortable.0 -
Can you shut her in the bedroom and then ask the vet for a home visit?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

try a feliway plug in if you can get her into the house as well--our cat Sparky started acting like that -because he was being bullied by other ctas and we suspect he was booted by someone as well-he is very nervous around feet and will swipe you first and think later bless him.He was becoming very very neurotic-the feliway worked right away-though did get him checked out at vets too.I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0
