I guess it's just whatever your happy with.
Is it worth it? Why doesn't the other person do it themselves?0 -
Thanks for the replies, there's some interesting and thought provoking comments to digest.0

I'm ob. far too soft - have sold a couple of things for my mum and never even charged her the listing fee, and a couple of things were for a friend (high value), and charged the listing fee only!!!0

I charge 50% as its so time consuming and risky as already mentioned. If they are not happy, then they can do it themselves and have the headache that goes with it, giving you more time to hunt out your own sales. Don't undervalue yourself!0

I don't believe he's ever sold anything on eBay, only bought a few things. He's also pretty busy and therefore doesn't have the time. The 99p items probably aren't worth it but I don't like to say no. I suppose he wasn't to know that they would only sell for 99p.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

You should take this risk into account so a 50/50 split of the profit would not seem unreasonable.
Totally agree with this. I suppose it also depends on the value of the item, and on what type of item it is (ie selling CDs is dead easy, because you just need to type in the barcode and ebay already has the tracklisting and a photo of the cover, whereas selling clothes is a pain because you need to wash, iron and photograph them, plus if you're doing things properly you need to fill in details about the fabric, take measurements and so on, so writing the listings takes ages).0 -
I currently sell for two other people, one of them could do it for themselves but cant be bothered so we take a 50/50 split, the other doesnt have the time or ebay account to do it themselves so they give me a value and description and i do the rest for nowt.
The second one is selling a lot of high value items and I didnt want the hassle of having to worry about the inland revenue investigating me !!
Are they items that will sell easily ? Have you thought about offering a lump sum to your friend, buying the items and selling them as your own ? Will only work if you sell them all but might save you some grief.
