Help re sky + cable?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help me?
I am moving to a new build property next week with a communal sky system and need to set up the Sky + box. I was on the phone to the company who fits in our area and the callout is £70 but to avoid this i can get a cable from somewere like maplin to connect to the two "dimples" above tv point but i have forgotten what cable was called (was not paying proper attention as baby was screaming) - it is a screw connection at the aerial point that needs to go from this and plug into box and tv. can any one help with a name or advise (not very tech savvy but cannot afford the £70 callout) etc.
Thank you in advance.

The satellite plugs are F Type and the cable is 75 Ohm. You will most likely need these at the wall and the Sky box.
Connecttion to from Sky box to TV will be something else - scart, HDMI

No problem. Thinking about it, the two connections on the wall will be for Sky+ so that you can record two programs at once. So you will need to make up two cables the same with the stuff above.
You may be able to get premade cables from somewhere, but they will cost more - they are not hard to make up anyway.

Might not work, communal systems uses special kit (usually in a cable cupboard on the ground floor) and it may be that they need to do some work there as well as simple plugging in a sky box to the wall.

But doesnt hurt to try they may have pre-cabled it all.

When i moved into a flat with a communal system we had to use a particular company for the install.
  • Thanks Devalin,
It is actually the install company who recommended cables to save call out charge, they have done the total contract for this new build so that should help and hopefully mean they know what they are talking about! Spoke to nice bloke at install company who was very helpful, just did not concentrate properly as baby was crying, and gave me direct dial in-case of any problems but he does not think i will need it.
