  • Hi all,
taking small steps for planning and cooking, my best time for concentration and motivation is in the morning so I have bought a slow cooker in the argos sale.
Just going to meal plan tomorrow and wednesday for now.
tomorrow, beef casserole in slow cooker using veg from freezer and potatos that are sprouting in the cupboard.....will get the meat out of the freezer now
Wednesday, chicken casserole using freezer veg and slightly older potatos which hopefully wont be too sprouty.

Contingency plan, because if things go wrong I really struggle to cope.
    1) if new slow cooker doesnt work I have oven chips and battered fish in freezer.
2)if food goes wrong as above.
    3) if potatos are really too hairy I have a bag of microwavable mash in the freezer that MiL gave me.

DS2 will not eat casserole so he can have the meat with the gravy scraped off, raw carrots (in fridge) and a cheese sandwich. I will not enter into a debate with him over this. DH and I are not going to divorce over DSs eating habits. It is all fine.
Anyone who successfully eats their dinner will be allowed left over christmas goodies.

Its a bit of a disorganised week for me this week. Back to normal (and the diet!) next week. This week will be something like:

    Monday - Naughty takeaway - OH's treat :-)
Tuesday - tea at Oh's parents, chicken stew and dumplings I think.
Wednesday - just me so something from the freezer, probably chicken kiev and salad
Thursday - just me again and need something to fill me up before going to the pub so probably HM lasagne from the freezer with oven chips and salad.
Friday - tea at mum's, roast pork and all the trimmings.
Saturday - back to work :-( I work 12hr shifts at the minute so I'll probably stick a spag bol in the slow cooker at 6.30am!!!
Sunday - pork slices in gravy with steamed veg and some kind of potato.

    Have a good week everyone

    Hi guys

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

Here is my plan, not sure how much we'll stick to it though!

Monday 28th: Had vegetable stew, using up potatoes, sprouts and carrots etc from Christmas. Made enough for lunches this week too.
Tuesday 29th: Will be having Vietnamese veggie hotpot with added sprouts and chilli!
Wednesday 30th: Am working at PT job in the evening so having stew at other work before I head across. OH will have beef chilli.
Thursday 31st: New Year's Eve treats!

No idea after that, really need to sort through everything and try to get back to normal!

  • What a great idea this is - I have two teenagers that when I ask what they want for dinner they say "anything nice" and when i say such as - they say "anything!!!" I'm working full time this week so:-
Tuesday Last of the gammon, chips and egg.
Wednesday Sausages and mash (or hash browns!)
Thursday Chilli from freezer and put into slow cooker during 1/2 hour lunch break so ready when i get home from work!
Friday off work so anything that i can rustle up from the freezer!!
2010 has got to be better than the last two years!! :rotfl:

Weight loss to date: 3 Stone & 5lbs!! Weight loss this week: 2 lbs !!:j
