Ive never been although I did go to borovets some years ago, and i do remember it being rather grim, but then I was a child then and im sure things have improved.

Cautiounary tale. A mate of mine bought a bungalow in Bulgaria. She spent loads of money on getting all the building materials sent to this property, alas the builders nicked it all and vanished into the abyss. Remember, criminals operate everywhere, jsut as you would expect here, expect elsewhere

Sorry to hear that, about your friend, but I think the English cheaters are even greater than Bulgarian. Here you can be hit very hard not only by builders, but agents too (no matter bulgarian or english) in my city (Burgas) are 280 (registered) agencies, don't know how many are the phantoms. But some of them are living only for the one BIG HIT.
