doin friends favours

my friend asked me to do her a favour over christmas, i have done her many favours in the past, she has never done anything for me. im feeling slighty aggrieved. me and my partner work, her and her oh have never worked, not becasuse they cant, they choose not too. This favour she as asked me to do, is thru my work. i do feel a bit out of order i also feel like saying to her, get a job, stop telling me stories you cant afford stuff. My brother has asked me for the same favour i am happy to oblige, am i outof order?
i will be debt free, i will

You got your own brain , you dont need a forum when you know you can tell your "friend" no sorry.

Just say work keeps a close eye on you whatever it is.

And dont forget to sort your brothers stuff :D

    What sort of favour?

I have to say, I agree that you have a brain of your own - so use it!

  • Tell her to sort herself out that you have enough on your plate, seeing as she doesnt do much during the day anyways and just dont let on that you are helping out your brother..lol

if your favours arent reciprocated its probably not that great a friendsship.

just stop talking to them. no explanations needed. they'll get the message.

New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.
  • Some people are the sort that just ask for more and more and push their luck as far as they can to get stuff/favours/whatever. Others (I'm one of these) try to help out when asked...BUT there comes a point where I feel taken advantage of and I can't see how other people aren't!
You know hoe comfortable you feel with what your friend is asking for. I know if I was in your position I would do it (to avoid confrontation more than anything else - yes i'm a wuss!) but then manage to distance myself from the said friend so there was so little actual "friendship" that even if they did ask I would be in no way obliged.
