However what you want and what you need may very well be two different things. What you wanted may cause real problems due to its interactions with other conditons or medications you are on.

Unfortunately when it all goes wrong though we all trundle off to A and E and expect them to put our stupid mistakes right free of charge.

As already mentioned Day and Night Nurse capsules contain Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride which is a restricted drug as it is the main ingredient in the manufacture of Crystal Methamphetamine (which is a highly addictive and very nasty drug that swept America and the UK dont want it to take hold here) and Paracetamol is also restricted to help prevent impulse overdoses of a severe nature.

If a GP thinks that you are in the right frame of mind and a low risk of abusing the drugs prescribed then they can give you as much as they want, but I did have a friend who was prescribed 10mg diazepam for panic attacks and had to visit the pharmacy for 1 tablet at a time as he had a history of drug abuse.
