Praise for the bin men!

My road is ridiculously icey at the minute and I was dreading not having an empty bin for christmas. Anyway yesterday my binmen came and emptied them... I know its their job to do that but I really wasn't expecting it. Well done to the binmen!

I think if I was under Manchester council I'd still be waiting... they used to cancel the service at a bit of rain but Trafford are like the super council battling ice, wind, rain.... it's insane ;)

Our bins are usually emptied on a Friday but we were told that this week it would be Thursday. Woke up this morning to snow and ice, didn't expect them to turn up, but lo and behold they did.

    Cheers Conwy CBC binmen:beer:.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

  • Ours were brilliant, came early yesterday. In the good old days we used to tip them, now there's half a dozen workers on the wagon not sure what to do to show a little appreciation.
  • We live in Rotherham and ours were collected today too (its usually a friday). We live a the bottom of a hill which is very icy at the moment. I am shocked that they came and took it, I would have expected their to be health and safety risks at working in such conditions.

in edinburgh the roads are bad and whilst the gin men were out
they were only doing the bins near the main road
to be fair theres no way their lorry would make it round the side streets but if the council gritted.......

My recycling bins were not emptied today, as we are a bit off the beaten track and we have had some dire weather recently I am not surprised, I am surprised that my neighbour put the bin out with 8" of snow on the ground LOL no chance. The bin lorry did do the main road but dragging a bin down a snowy lane isn't my idea of fun.
